Curve number (CN) is used in hydrology to characterize the runoff properties for a particular soil and land cover. CN has a range from 30 to 100; lower numbers indicate low runoff potential while larger numbers are for increasing runoff potential. The lower the curve number, the more permeable the soil. The current elevation surface in this application is the 2018 LiDAR derived NGDVD29 Digital Elevation Model (DEM) hydro conditioned with the Fairfax Hydrography Dataset (FHD) and Stormwater Infrastructure (StormNet) from May 2021. The Soils 2018 Layer and 2105 Landcover Layer are the data inputs used to calculate Curve Number. Please be advised that these are estimated drainage basins and curve number based off the best data available.", "summary": "This application is designed for internal use to delineate drainage basins and calculate curve number.
