Anthony Mingo, Community Outreach Manager with the Fairfax County Health Department discusses the Stronger² initiative. Through collaboration with community partners, Stronger² aims to improve health outcomes in communities of color by cultivating an individual's ability to find, understand and use health information and services in a manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. Community partners are crucial to this program because they “[use] their trusted voice in community to be able to communicate those effective messaging around the importance of health literacy,” said Anthony Mingo, Stronger² project leader.
