If you have tested positive for COVID-19, there are some important steps to take to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in your family and in our community.

September 7 (Updated): Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna bivalent COVID-19 vaccine boosters are now available at Fairfax County vaccine clinics. Appointments are strongly encouraged, there may be wait times for walk-in service. Update on COVID-19 Testing in Fairfax County: Know when to get tested; Perform repeat testing after a negative result on an at-home test; Federal free home test program to be suspended Sept. 2.

August 11, 2022: CDC updates COVID-19 guidance: The Fairfax County Health Department is aware of new CDC updates and is working with Virginia Department of Health to assess and implement these locally as appropriate. Updates to the Fairfax County Health Department website are forthcoming.

Staying up to date on vaccination is importantChildren under age 5 are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations. Everyone 5 years and older is eligible for a booster, some individuals eligible for second booster. Find where to get a vaccine.

If you are more likely to get very sick from COVID-19, effective treatment is now available that can prevent illness from becoming worse.

We will continue to provide vaccinations and testing for all at no charge at county-operated clinics.
