CALL TO ORDER

Commission Chair Crawford called the Wednesday, February 17, 2021 Commission Meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Approval of AgendaIt was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Solon that the February 17, 2021 Agenda be approved as presented.  The motion passed by majority vote with Commissioner Hudson abstaining.

Approval of Minutes:  It was moved by Commissioner Bell- Krasner and seconded by Commissioner Solon that the February 3, 2021 Minutes be approved as amended.  The motion passed by majority vote with Commissioners Hudson and Malik abstaining.

 

STAFF ISSUESThere were no staff issues.

 

COMMISSION BUSINESS

 

HRC# 2020094H – FIR -- It was moved by Commissioner Solon and seconded by Commissioner Malik that this complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2020091H – FIR -- It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Shipman that this complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2020106H – FIR-- It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Malik that this complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.

 

COMMUNITY CONCERNS

 

Outreach Events – There were no Outreach matters to discuss.

 

PENDING BUISNESS

Commission Training Date – Deputy Director Stephan-Fawcett updated the Commissioners on the specific date of March 17th at 7:30pm for the training by Director Saunders and Deputy Director Stephan-Fawcett.  This is a mandatory training that will be conducted via Zoom.   

Fair Housing Task Force -- Commissioner Crawford informed the Commissioners that Commissioner Conde is the representative for the Fair Housing Task Force and Commissioner Solon is the back up.

 

Commissioner Salinas inquired about the status of the website and Director Saunders informed the Commissioners that the office is working on it.  Fair Housing Program Manager Mary Soliman stated that the Outreach website has been updated and there is now a Tab where they can find all the latest news and updates on upcoming outreach events.
