Budget Process and Information

The Fiscal Year begins on July 1st of every year and begins a new budget cycle. 


FY 2019 Budget

The County Executive presents the FY 2019 budget proposal on February 20, 2018. 

The Board of Supervisors public hearings on the budget are April 10, 11 and 12.  Adoption of the budget is on May 1, 2018.

Hunter Mill Budget Advisory Committee

Each year, Supervisor Hudgins invites Hunter Mill District residents to join the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee.  This committee is tasked with studying the County Executive's budget proposal and providing their recommendations to Supervisor Hudgins for consideration.

Tax Relief for Senior and Disabled Residents

Fairfax County provides real estate tax relief and vehicle tax relief to citizens who are either 65 or older, or permanently and totally disabled, and meet the income and asset eligibility requirements.  Qualified taxpayers may also be eligible for tax relief for renters.  Additional information
