Foster Care and Adoption. Serves a caseload of clients that include children in foster care and/or adoptive placement and their biological/foster/adoptive families. Conducts assessments, service planning, and clinical casework intervention to achieve family reunification or to place children in permanent families with relatives or adoptive parents. Coordinates the placement, treatment, and educational services to these children with other public and private providers including group homes, residential facilities, therapists, and schools. Uses automated technology to maintain client data and case records, and for correspondence. Prepares court reports and testifies as necessary regarding compliance with service plan.

This position will be located in the Fairfax, Virginia region. This announcement may be used to fill several positions in Fairfax and/or other regions.



Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree, plus two years of professional social work experience. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.



The appointees to these positions will be required to complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry, and a driver's record check to the satisfaction of the employer.



Bachelor's degree in social work (BSW) or master's degree in social work (MSW). Experience in child welfare. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
