Serves as an administrative assistant to the commander of the bureau. Serves as the central control and receiving point for the bureau. Answers phone calls and greets visitors. Schedules and prepares agenda documents for meetings. Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence; schedules tasks; prepares and/or writes reports; proofs memoranda and letters within required time frames; and maintains files. Orders all bureau office supplies and takes regular inventories. Manages bureau budget for office supplies and equipment. Conducts and oversees the biweekly time and attendance submissions and utilizes spreadsheets to record overtime. Oversees and executes access control functions for the police department.



Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus two years of experience providing administrative support.



The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer. Employee is subject to random drug testing.



Proficient in writing, editing, and use of proper grammar. Strong organizational and decision-making skills. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently. Familiar with the county's payroll system and procedures for recording time and attendance. Familiar with access control procedures. Excellent customer service skills. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite computer software.
