POLICE CITIZEN AIDE II

Description:

Located at the Mason District Station, 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, Virginia. Inspects the workplace during each tour of duty to ensure that equipment is working properly and no hazards exist. Monitors closed circuit TV cameras and audible alarms for fire, burglary, emergency power, etc. Makes required security checks of the building and property. Enters data into the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system regarding warrant and arrest checks, Division of Motor Vehicle listings, etc. Relays messages to patrol officers. Maintains a telephone number for every squad member. Keeps superiors informed on major events and weather forecasts. Furnishes information to citizens on criminal and traffic laws public safety matters. Handles administrative tasks for a team of patrol officers.

 

Minimum
Qualifications:

Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus two years of experience performing clerical and/or police communications work, including one year of experience equivalent to Police Citizen Aide I.

 

Special
Requirements:

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

 

Preferred
Qualifications:

Familiarity with Police Department procedures. Experience using Altaris CAD System, I/LEADS, and Microsoft Office software.
