SOCIAL WORK SUPERVISOR

Description:

Plans, assigns, reviews, and manages the work and day-to-day activities of a group of professional social workers and allied professionals at the Fairfax County Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC), a community-county collaborative. Ensures that survivor advocacy services are provided in a timely, accurate, courteous, and effective manner and in accordance with DVAC policies as well as federal, state and local policies and procedures, and social work practices.

Manages all survivor advocacy services of OFWDSVS including crisis intervention, safety planning, lethality assessment, case management, court accompaniment, and other survivor advocacy services both at DVAC and within the community. Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising of OFWDSVS advocacy team staff.

Responsible for data collection, grant reporting, and program management activities related to the operation of DVAC. The Supervisor works closely with DVAC partner agencies to ensure streamlined service provision and effective working relationships.

With the rest of OFWDSVS supervisory staff, rotates as on-call back up for the program's 24-hour Domestic & Sexual Violence Hotline; serves as a member of OFWDSVS Management Team; and performs other OFWDSVS-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum
Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree; plus four years of increasingly responsible, directly-related professional experience in the social services or human services field. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of required experience.

 

Special
Requirements:

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry, and a driver's record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

 

Preferred
Qualifications:

Master's degree in social work (MSW) or related field. Significant experience working in the field of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Experience building and supervising teams. Strong collaboration skills.
