ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN II

Description:

Troubleshoots and repairs live electrical circuits, working with voltages from 0 to 600 volt. Inspects, tests, maintains, installs, and repairs electronic equipment and systems, such as fire alarm and fire suppression systems, emergency electric power generating systems, and audio and video equipment. Diagnoses and repairs emergency generators and automatic transfer switches. Enforces local, state, and national fire and electrical building safety codes and insurance requirements. Performs related duties as required; duties are performed under general supervision.

 

Minimum
Qualifications:

Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus completion of an apprentice-level vocational training program in electronics; and two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of the electronic and electromechanical equipment specific to the position.

 

Special
Requirements:

Possession of a valid driver's license. Selected applicant must successfully pass a medical examination and respirator clearance prior to employment. The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of employer.

This position requires the ability to climb ladders and scaffolds up to 50 feet and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time. Requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds for a short period of time and to carry up 60 pounds with assistance. Position periodically requires the use of a respirator.
