$37,016 to $47,243  (Grade P15)

One position will be filled from this announcement. It will be located at the Sully District Station, 4900 Stonecroft Boulevard in Chantilly, Virginia.

Inspects the workplace during each tour of duty to ensure that equipment is working properly. Maintains the security and safety of station through monitoring of closed circuit TV cameras and audible alarms for fire, burglary, emergency power. Enters data into the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system regarding warrant and arrest checks, and Division of Motor Vehicle listings, etc. Distributes incoming messages to appropriate personnel and keeps superiors informed on major events and weather forecasts. Responds to telephone and or walk-in inquiries from citizens and is responsible for administrative tasks for a patrol squad.



Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus two years of experience performing clerical and/or police communications work, including one year of experience equivalent to Police Citizen Aide I.



The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.



Familiarity with Police Department procedures. Experience using I/NetDispatch CAD system, I/LEADS, and Microsoft Office software.



Panel interview



Scheduled work day as deemed necessary by command encompasses 12-hour shifts (i.e., either 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.) and working every other weekend. This position may be underfilled at the Police Citizen Aide I level (Grade P13, $33,575 to $42,851). This level requires any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation or a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus one year of work experience in a position requiring regular contact with the public.
