Plans, facilitates, implements and evaluates public health services in the School Health and Maternal-Child Health Programs of Patient Care Services (PCS Division of the Health Department). Provides leadership, manages human and fiscal resources and develops and implements programs. Identifies interrelationships across the organization, corroborates with a wide range of human service providers and Fairfax County Public School stakeholders to develop programs that support the Health Department's mission, vision and values. Develops and monitors program budgets and grants, conducts statistical analysis of health data to identify public health trends. Administratively responsible for all facets (physical, fiscal and human resource management and strategic planning) of the School Health Program, including the School Health Aide and Health Promotion Program and Maternal-Child Health Programs including the Healthy Families Fairfax, Beginning Steps for Parents, Nurse Family Partnership (NFP), Maternity, Women, Infant and Children (WIC), Immunizations and the FAW (eligibility) programs. In addition maintains knowledge of all PCS clinic, field and school health services, long term care, emergency preparedness, chronic disease and communicable disease programs, to include tuberculosis (TB). Graduation from a college or university accredited by the National League for Nursing with a master's degree in nursing, public health, public health administration, nursing administration, or nurse practitioner; plus six years of full-time equivalent post-licensure experience, four of which were in a public health setting and include two years in a supervisory capacity.



Possession of current license to practice as registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
