Description:

Become part of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department's Information Technology Team. The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, a 24/7/365 agency, is nationally recognized for its outstanding performance in delivering the highest quality service to protect the lives, property and environment of our community.

As a member of the team, uses experience in intranet, Internet, and mobile application development using VB.Net and ASP.Net, and COTS solutions system administration and interfaces to support the department. Requires skill in gathering and documenting requirements for new applications and upgrades to existing applications, developing design specifications, and performing .Net programming using SQL Server database platform; and skills in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other report development tools. Performs technical customer support related to hardware and software problem resolution, researching alternative solutions, mentoring staff, and performing data modeling and data architecture mapping.

 

Minimum
Qualifications:

Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to a two-year degree in information systems, computer technology, business, economics, or a related field; plus three years of programming/analysis experience; or graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a four-year degree in information systems, computer technology, business, economics, or a related field, plus one year of programming/analysis experience in a complex information systems environment.

Requirements:

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

 

Preferred
Qualifications:

On-the-job experience with a fire and rescue department or emergency management agency that provides 24/7/365 service; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
