Description:

Seeking highly motivated, education-oriented professional to manage the Residential Permit Parking District (RPPD) and Community Parking District (CPD) programs. Reviews requests, issues petitions/petition maps, prepares documents for the Board of Supervisors, and represents the agency at public hearings. Attends meetings with citizens groups and other agencies to discuss programs and instruct citizens and Board Offices on how to complete petitions and apply for parking decals. Maintains related GIS layers and databases. Educates staff and others to use permit software and evaluates for future enhancements. Performs other transportation duties as assigned.

 

Minimum
Qualifications:

Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in urban/transportation planning, civil engineering, or a closely related field; plus two years of experience related to transportation planning.

 

Special
Requirements:

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer prior to employment.

 

Preferred
Qualifications:

Strong analytical, teaching, verbal and writing skills. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to include SDE updates. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, project planning software, and database software including queries. Able to manage multiple project simultaneously, organize and establish priorities and work independently with a minimum of direct supervision. Motor vehicle driver's license.

 

Note:

This position may be underfilled by a less experienced applicant at the Transportation Planner I level (Grade S21, $47,354 to $63,139), which requires any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil urban, regional or transportation planning, engineering, or a closely related field.

 

Note:

Occasional overtime may be required to attend evening meetings and meet deadlines.
