Description:

This exciting Senior Clinician position provides assessment, therapy, and case management services to children, adolescents ages 4 to 18 and their families. The position is located at the South County Human Service Center in Alexandria, Virginia.

Provides mental health and substance abuse therapy to individuals, groups, and families, using evidence-based techniques. Case management duties include medication monitoring, Comprehensive Services Act functions, and accessing resources with families. Performs database recordkeeping pursuant to CSB, state, and federal requirements. Revenue documentation requirements are insurance and Medicaid. Operates within a treatment-team environment. Other duties include effective utilization management for caseload and site management, program evaluation/development. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. three days, and with a minimum of two evenings per week from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

 

Minimum
Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college with at least a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or nursing; plus two years of clinical experience.

 

Special
Requirements:

Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner. The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, an Office of the Inspector General (OIG) check and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry to the satisfaction of the employer. TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter.

 

Preferred
Qualifications:

Experience in individual, group and family treatment. Experience serving children and adolescents ages 4 to 18 with mental health and substance use disorders. Enjoys working with youth and families. Must be able to function well in a team environment.
