SOCIAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR

Description:

Serves as the Father Engagement Supervisor in the Children, Youth and Families division, and is housed in the Fairfax office. Responsible for the design, development and implementation of father engagement best practices. Reviews and analyzes casework practices for desired outcomes and compliance. Manages and provides technical oversight to a contractor to ensure that the stated deliverables are provided. Provides written analysis on casework findings and provides feedback and recommendation to program staff, supervisors and managers. Serves as a DFS resource regarding father engagement practices, outcomes, trends and policies. Conducts public education activities to promote community awareness. Develops community collaborations and leverages additional stakeholders. Participates on state, local, county human services teams, including federal committees as required. Reports to the Family Partnership Program Manager.

 

Minimum
Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree; plus four years of increasingly responsible, directly-related professional experience in the social services or human services field. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of required experience.

 

Special
Requirements:

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, check of the Child Protective Services Registry and a driver's record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

 

Preferred
Qualifications:

Master's degree in social (MSW). Knowledge and skills using a strength-based family focus approach to working with families and the community. Familiarity with the needs of a diverse, multi-cultural clientele. Experience in the development of best practice of father engagement.
