This position is based out of the Annandale office in Fairfax County but may be moved to other offices throughout the county depending on the needs of the program. Performs advanced-level professional duties and supervises a group of staff providing employment and case management services. Supports the performance management of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program, along with other grant funded employment opportunities. Develops and administers consistent policies, procedures and best practices to ensure compliance with Federal, state and local regulations. Participates in the submission of responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) from a variety of sources. Maintains intensive tracking records and prepares responses to program and financial audit findings. Position requires travel throughout Fairfax County, and--on occasion--out of town.



Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree plus four years of professional work experience.



The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry and a driver's record check to the satisfaction of the employer.



Knowledge of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) programs, WIA Common Measures, eligibility determination, and WIA case management standards. Clear and concise oral and written communications skills. Knowledge of social, economic, health, and cultural factors that can serve as barriers to employment. Knowledge of labor market conditions and job development techniques. Knowledge and experience with process improvement strategies, data management and the Virginia Workforce Connection. Experience implementing federally funded employment programs and successfully leading a team towards the common goal. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Vietnamese, and/or Korean.

This is a grant funded position. It is anticipated that funding will be renewed on an annual basis.
