The appointee to this position will be assigned to work at one of eight RECenters throughout the county. Performs general inspections, planned and demand maintenance tasks of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment in one of eight Park Authority RECenters. Ensures that all building systems are inspected and in compliance with local, state, national building, health and fire codes. Keeps track of operational costs for building systems for planned and demand maintenance. Conducts site safety inspections and trainings for site and site personnel. Reads and interprets building blue prints and provides technical guidance on project as a team member. Operates county-owned vehicle; and uses power tools and testing equipment.



Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus three years of experience in building maintenance and repair.



Must have a valid driver's license. Physical requirements include: lifting 50 pounds; bending; and working in confined non-conditioned space. Must have the ability to climb a ladder. Personal protective equipment will be required for the various duties of this position. The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a pre-employment physical examination, and a driver's license check, to the satisfaction of the employer.



College degree in either the HVAC or Electrical trade, or completion of an apprentice-level or vocational training program in building trades. Five years of practical, progressively responsible experience may be substituted for the apprentice-level training program. Knowledge of: the equipment, materials, trade standards, methods, and tools used to sustain a building maintenance operation; and local, state and national building codes, and common hazards and necessary safety precautions. Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office computer software, especially Outlook, to perform routine administration tasks; and Microsoft Office Focus Preventative Maintenance software. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to: plan and perform work of the trade at the full journeyman level; follow written and oral instructions; read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals; and estimate time and material needed to determine when repair is not economically practical.

Work hours will vary but are normally 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Overtime may be required. Morning and afternoon hours will be scheduled regularly with evening, weekend and holiday hours scheduled as necessary. The work of this position requires "on call" responsibilities.
