Jeff was first elected Lee District Supervisor in November 2007 after serving as chief of staff to former Lee District Supervisor Dana Kauffman from 1996 through 2007. He began his third term in January 2016.
Supervisor McKay chairs the County Board’s Budget Committee and Legislative Committee, and co-chairs the Board’s Committee on Community Revitalization and Reinvestment.
Additionally, he serves on the Successful Children and Youth Policy Team (SCYPT) and previously served on the joint Board of Supervisors/ School Board Infrastructure Financing Committee. Jeff is also a sworn Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Fairfax County.
Outside of Fairfax County, McKay serves on the Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC) and the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) Board and was recently elected as Second Vice President on the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo) Board of Directors, and serves as chair of the VACo Transportation Committee. McKay also serves on the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) and previously served as vice chair on the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) Transit Capital Project Revenue Advisory Board.
Supervisor McKay earned a B.S. in Public Administration from James Madison University, and is a graduate of the Sorensen Institute of Political Leadership at the University of Virginia. He lives in Lee District with his wife Crystal, his daughter Leann and his son Aidan.
