Summer Meals for Kids - Open Sites

Free Summer Meals for KidsThe Summer Meals for Kids Program provides free, healthy meals to children ages 5 to 18. The following "Open Sites" have been established in areas where 50 percent or more of students receive free or reduced price meals at school. At these locations, meals will be provided to all children without charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the Program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. No meals will be served on July 4 and 5.

Meals will be provided at a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times as follows:

Huntington Community Center
    5751 Liberty Drive, Alexandria, VA 22303
    Program Dates: June 17 - August 23
    Meal Service: Breakfast (9:30 to 10:15 a.m.; Lunch (Noon to 12:30 p.m.)

South County Teen Center
    8350 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309
    Program Dates: June 17 - August 23
    Meal Service: Breakfast (9:30 to 10:15 a.m.); Lunch (1 to 2 p.m.)

Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English. 

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (AD-3027), found online at and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
