Are You Ready for the Nov. 6 Election? Critical Deadlines, Events, Sample Ballots and More

Make sure you're ready to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 6 by taking these steps:

  • Download the Fairfax County App on Your Smartphone for Voting Info on the Go: More information.

  • Make Sure You Know Your Polling Place: Due to the recent congressional redistricting, your polling place may have changed. Check the Virginia State Board of Elections Website to make sure you know your polling place.

  • Learn About the Four County Bond Questions: The county plans to pay for improvements to libraries, parks, public safety buildings and stormwater infrastructure by selling bonds. Voters will be asked to vote YES or NO on these four bond questions. Visit the 2012 Bond Referenda web page for more information.

  • Find Out About the Two Proposed Constitutional Amendments: Get more information from this brochure (PDF) from the Virginia State Board of Elections. 

  • Review Your Sample Ballot: Go online and scroll down to click on the ballot for your district.  

  • Bring a Form of ID to Vote: Handy chart (PDF) from the Virginia State Board of Elections.

  • Link to Virginia State Board of Elections Military and Overseas Voter Registration information.

  • Read the Sept. 28 online chat with Fairfax County's General Registrar for additional information.

  • Submit questions for the Nov. 2 online chat with Fairfax County's General Registrar.
