Registration is open for our summer camps! We offer over 1,000 camp options for children through our Park Authority and Department of Neighborhood and Community Services. Find the camp that works best for you and your child.
 
 

PARK AUTHORITY CAMPS

The Park Authority offers summer day camp options for children ages 3 to 16. The camps are held at more than 50 locations in the county, including Rec Centers, nature centers, historic sites, lakefront parks, golf courses and schools. Virtual camps are also available for those who prefer or cannot attend in person.
 
The Park Authority offers something for everyone. Camps include:
  • Adventure and excursion camps
  • Aquatic, boating and fishing camps
  • Art and craft-related camps
  • Equestrian and farm-related camps
  • Nature-based camps
  • Performing arts camps
  • STEM camps
  • Specialty camps
  • Sport camps
  • Virtual camps
Many camps offer swimming at Rec Centers each day. Discover all camp options in the Spring and Summer Day Camps Guide. Spring break camp applications are still being accepted.
 
Registrations fill up quickly, so families are encouraged to apply early. Register by May 5 to receive an $8 early-bird discount for each camp session. Questions? Call the registration unit at 703-222-4664, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 
The Park Authority is hiring camp counselors and camp directors. Apply online or join us on March 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Frying Pan Farm Park Visitor Center for an open hire session. Learn more.
 
 

NEIGHBORHOOD AND COMMUNITY SERVICES CAMPS

Neighborhood and Community Services offers a variety of youth and teen summer camps and out-of-school time programs. Programs are offered at public schools and community centers throughout Fairfax County. All programs offer reduced fees for eligible families.

Camp Fairfax: Run by School Age Child Care, Camp Fairfax provides all-day, weekly summer camp options for rising first to seventh graders at 35 locations.

Each camp offers three cabins to explore:

  • Artist's Cabin: Children will explore and experiment with a variety of art forms such as painting, sculpture and textile design.
  • Performer's Cabin: For children with an interest in theatre. They will enjoy opportunities for creative expression through song, dance and storytelling while also learning the fundamentals of theatrical production.
  • Athlete's Cabin: Children will participate in field day games and team building challenges, show their speed during track and field week, and develop their skills in flag football, basketball and soccer. They will also play new games like pickleball.

Therapeutic Recreation Camps: These camps offer an affordable summer camp experience for persons ages 5-22 with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, physical disabilities, emotional disabilities, learning disabilities and/or attention deficit disorders. Registration information will be posted in April.
 
Teens In Action: This out-of-school time program offers engaging, healthy and affordable recreation opportunities for ages 12 to 18 at 10 county locations. Teens In Action is free of charge for Fairfax County residents. Spring break registration is open. Summer break information will be posted mid-March.
 
Value in Prevention (V.I.P) Camp: This camp offers healthy and positive leisure activities for rising and current middle school students. Registration information is coming soon.
 

FIRE AND RESCUE CAMPS

The 2023 Girls Fire and Rescue Academy summer camp will be offered in two separate sessions, June 20-23 and June 27-30. The academy is open to rising 7th through 12th grade female students for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. 

Campers will have fun-filled experiences including fire/EMS simulations, a visit to a Fire and Rescue Station to experience the everyday life of a firefighter/EMT, and the opportunity to ask questions and interact with an on duty crew.

The program is completely free of charge. Each camp will be limited to 24 applicants. Spots are first come, first serve, and all applications must be received by close of business on Friday, May 19. Learn more
