Public Feedback Sought for Changes Proposed to Reston Comprehensive Plan

Proposed changes to Reston’s Comprehensive Plan , the guiding document for land use and development decisions in Reston, are now available for public review and feedback. The amendment process began in May 2020 with an appointed Task Force of Reston community members working with county staff. Components of the current Reston Comprehensive Plan, such as affordable housing, transportation, and parks, were analyzed by the Task Force and proposed changes to the Plan were developed.

The Task Force-endorsed, proposed changes are detailed in the Draft Reston Comprehensive Plan Text , available online. The public comment period is open through Friday, October 28. Public comments should be submitted through the form available on the Reston Study webpage.

All who live or work in Reston are encouraged to submit feedback on the proposed Comprehensive Plan text and share their desires for future land use and development decisions in Reston.
