Celebrate the 4th of July with Fireworks at Lake Fairfax
July 4, 2016$5
Celebrate the nation’s birthday with water slides, music, food, puppets, and, of course, fireworks at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston.
There’s a full day of fun on tap this Fourth of July. The Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. offering thrills on daring water flumes for older kids and bubbling sprays and smaller slides for the younger set. You can also take a spin on the park’s carousel or enjoy the lake by tour boat or pedal boat. Regular admission and usage prices apply.
From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., enjoy a puppet show at the park, and the Hard to Tell Band takes the stage from 4 to 9 p.m. Bring a picnic basket or bring your appetite and purchase lunch, dinner or snacks from the food vendors who will be around all day.
As the sun goes down, get ready for the fireworks that will start around 9:15 p.m.
On July 4, 2016, there is a parking fee of $5 per car at the park. If you want to save money, get some exercise and be good to the environment, come by foot or pedal power. There’s no cost to walkers or bicyclists. Camping is also available at the park for a separate fee.
