April 5: Crazy Kaleidoscopes

Hidden Pond Wetland Day: Join us as we explore the different wetlands from ponds to streams and everything in between. Bring boots and plan to get dirty as we investigate the various bodies of water and learn about the different organisms that live there. Fish at the pond, net at the stream and even help clean our local waterways. From noon to 2:30 p.m. at Hidden Pond Nature Center. Ages 6 and up $5 per person. Register online. April 6: Poetic Justice

Kwame Alexander & Randy Preston: Poetry and Performance: Newbery award-winning author Kwame Alexander and musician Randy Preston for a special performance celebrating the paperback release of BOOKED and THE CROSSOVER as well as the release of Kwame’s new picture book THE UNDEFEATED. Puppy Kindergarten: Puppies 10 to 23 weeks old learn socialization and discipline fundamentals. Puppy owners learn how to address problems such as housebreaking, chewing and jumping. April 7: Butterfly Beauties

Build Your Own Butterfly Garden: Do you want to attract beautiful butterflies to your lawn? Tour Ellanor C. Lawrence Park’s butterfly garden and learn how the plants selected nourish and feed butterflies. Then, plant seeds that you can take home and transplant into your own butterfly garden. Easter Eggstravaganza: Hunt for eggs filled with treats and prizes and visit animals outdoors at the Frying Pan Farm Park Visitor Center. Egg hunts for children age one to four begin on the hour from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. Egg hunts for children age one to six run at 2 and 3 p.m. Egg hunts start promptly at your registered times. Woodland Wildlife Egg Hunt: In groups of 10, enjoy an easy walk to meet costumed woodland characters along the half-mile, non-paved woodland trail for an entertaining look at how different animals raise their young.
