Nov. 30: Seasonal Celebration

Celebration Station at Burke Lake Park: Burke Lake’s train station magically transforms into the Celebration Station on select nights this holiday season. The park’s train station, carousel and train tracks will be festively lit for a unique experience filled with lights and memories. Train rides are scheduled every 20 minutes from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Burke Lake Park. Tickets are limited so purchase in advance. Each ticket includes one train ride and one carousel ride. Each passenger must purchase a ticket to ride the train. Tickets are $10. Register online. Children under 2 are free with a paying adult but must ride in the adult’s lap. Dec. 1: Winter Wonderland

Winter Wreath Workshop: Create a beautiful, winter wreath to take home for your front door. Greens, forms, ribbon and cones are included in the $25 supply fee. Mystery Author Extravaganza: Authors from the Chesapeake Chapter of Sisters in Crime will present their 2018 novels and short stories. Books will be available for sale and signing. Gifts from the HeART Reception and Holiday Sale Event: This festive marketplace is an opportunity to enjoy holiday refreshments while perusing the many tables of original artwork that include ornaments, small and large paintings, notecards, textiles, pottery, sculpture, fused glass and jewelry. “Happy Vaudeville Holidays” with Mark Brutsché: Santa has gone missing! His elves are on the hunt, but can they find him before it is too late? Dec. 2: Farm Festivities

Christmas at the Farm: Celebrate the holidays with Santa and company. Enjoy a variety of Christmas-themed activities including cookie decorating, games, a craft and writing letters to Santa. Register for sessions at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Frying Pan Farm Park. $10 per person. Ages 2 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program. Meet at the Visitor Center. Gardener’s Holiday Open House and Puppet Show: Treat yourself to a day of holiday fun at Green Spring Gardens featuring decorations and seasonal displays, live music, holiday breads and ornaments for sale and free refreshments.
