VDOT road paving map sample

Through June 2017, the Virginia Department of Transportation will be abuzz paving roads in Northern Virginia.

Is your neighborhood road on the schedule? How about that road to work?

You can look up which roads VDOT will be paving for the next year on its interactive map, which shows four levels of status:

  • Scheduled
  • In Progress
  • Completed
  • Deferred

To view details, access the map and click on a colored road segment. A pop-up will appear with details about the resurfacing, including treatment type, location and contact information.

Exact work dates are available about 10 days prior to work beginning, as contractors set schedules based on personnel and equipment availability. In subdivisions, “no parking” signs with precise date information will be posted at least three business days prior to work starting. You may have to temporarily relocate parked vehicles, as well as basketball hoops and garbage cans while work is under way.
