SACC's Winter Program, is offered at 23 sites throughout the county. To enroll your child at a location near your home or office, please call SACC Registration at 703-449-8989, TTY 711 between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, except holidays.

Oh, the Places We’ll Grow!

During SACC’s Winter Program children will use their imaginations and creativity to design their own original and unique communities! The communities may be historic, present day or futuristic. Maybe the community will be in the sky or outer space! How about a community on the floor of the ocean, or in the treetops of a forest? What about a city underground, or in a cavern? The possibilities are endless! As each community begins to take shape, children will use SACC’s six areas of exploration to think about and develop what the community will look like, as well as the structure of the community, and all the things it might need to thrive – the housing and architecture, schools and education system, government, entertainment, the arts, sports and recreation, the animals and the natural environment, and much more. Children will also create the character of the community by reflecting on what makes up the daily life of the people who live there. What is special about the community? What makes people want to be a part of it?

As a culmination of the winter program, children will host a community reveal and celebrate with a fun, one-of-a-kind community festival.

7 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.

Kindergarten - 6th grade

Your child will need a packed lunch and beverage each day. Please label both with your child's name and the date.

Snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon. A snack menu will be posted near the sign-out area.

Winter program fees are assessed on a sliding scale. Fees are based on the adjusted household income, which is the gross household income minus $4,050 for each child under the age of 18.
