Volunteers Give Laurel Hill Park an Earth Day Cleanup

Members of the Laurel Hill Park Volunteer Team (PVT) did their part to honor this year’s Earth Day theme: “Restore Our Earth.” The group gathered on Saturday, April 17, 2021, to help restore the park to its natural beauty by collecting trash.

Eleven volunteers turned out for the cleanup day that was planned to coincide with this week’s worldwide recognition of Earth Day. The volunteers filled six large trash bags with garbage they collected in Laurel Hill Park, and they found some large object debris, too.

PVTs are active in parks throughout Fairfax County and give residents with a passion for parks a way to join with like-minded individuals to support a particular park. Details on how to get in-volved with a PVT can be found on the Park Volunteer Team webpage.
