A Woman’s Life (or Not..)

10/01/2022 11:00 am to 10/01/2022 12:30 pm

Event Description

(8- Adult) In the rural farming community of Floris, women found ways to move out of traditional roles and use their talents in new ways. Hear about Edith Rogers, first woman on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, as well as other women’s accomplishments. Have fun trying a few of the common farm life activities that women did back in the 1930’s-40’s. Lastly, take a wagon ride and stop for a tour of the Kidwell farmhouse. This program will meet at the Visitor Center at address 2739 West Ox Road (not the farm entrance) and will have indoor and outdoor portions.
