Braddock Park Mini-Golf – What is Next?

In December, the contract with the Braddock Park mini golf ended, but you can get involved in considering options to reopen this area of the park.

The Fairfax County Park Authority is evaluating options to reopen or re-purpose the closed mini-golf course and we would like your input!  You can contact us now at Parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov and give us your thoughts!

On June 12, 2014, the Park Authority held a community meeting at the Mott Community Center to discuss the future of the mini-golf course in Braddock Park. Staff presentations included an overview of the Park Authority, background information about the mini-golf course, and details about the two parallel processes going forward to determine the future of the mini-golf course. A summary of the meeting is also available for review. Following the community meeting is a 30-day public comment period that will end on July 14, 2014, so the Park Authority encourages you to provide comments and ideas about the mini-golf courses during this time – and also to spread the news about this project to your neighbors and friends!

The two parallel processes include the aforementioned community meeting and public input, and a “Request for Interest” (RFI) submitted by the Park Authority to gauge interest by private operators to make improvements and re-open the mini-golf course. After the 30-day public comment period is complete, the Park Authority will review public comment and continue efforts regarding the “Request for Interest” (RFI) for private operators. Once both parallel processes are finalized, the Park Authority will evaluate all options and make a determination how to proceed regarding the future use of the mini-golf course.
