Picnic Area Use at Lake Fairfax Limited for Stream Work

Effective immediately, the picnic areas known as A, B, C, and D at Lake Fairfax Park will not be available for public use during the week in order to safely permit continued work on a stream restoration project.

While the picnic areas will be closed Monday to Friday through June 30, 2017, the rental areas are available on the weekends. Construction work will not be taking place on Saturday or Sunday.

Several strong storms have delayed the project, and landscape plantings are beginning to be installed. Heavy equipment is being used during the week to get the project back on track. We apologize for any inconvenience to park patrons.

If you have any questions regarding the stream restoration project, please contact Isabel Villarroel at Isabel.Villarroel@fairfaxcounty.gov or 703-324-7195. For background on the project, visit Three Construction Projects at Lake Fairfax Ready to Start.

Visitors are encouraged to contact Lake Fairfax Park at 703-471-5415 prior to visiting the park to check on facilities available for public use.
