Dog Daze and Wagfest Join Forces for a Doggone Good Cause
The Water Mine will go to the dogs this September with an expanded season-ending event benefitting the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and the Fairfax County Park Foundation. Dogs and dog lovers are invited to join us on Sunday, September 10, 2017 when the Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole at Lake Fairfax Park will open for dogs-only swimming from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m, Dogs can swim in Rattlesnake River for a suggested donation of $10 per dog.
Following last year’s inaugural Dog Daze success, this year’s end-of-season hoopla has been combined with the Park Authority’s Wagfest event to include a canine resource fair. Two-legged and four-legged friends can enjoy prizes and visit vendors that including veterinarians, dog boutiques, the Park Authority and more. Human friends can learn about the county’s nine dog parks, find out how to volunteer as a dog park monitor and learn about dog park etiquette. Fairfax Golf will also have a Footgolf demonstration area for visitors to explore.
