Transportation Project Closes Oakton Community Park

The Fairfax County Park Authority has closed Oakton Community Park to all visitors effective immediately. Oakton Community Park and all facilities including the playground, parking lot, and historic schoolhouse will be closed through April 2018  due to a transportation improvement project to be built by the Fairfax Utilities Design and Construction Division (UDCD).

The project consists of improvements at the intersection of Hunter Mill Road and Mystic Meadow Way in Oakton, Virginia. Work includes, but is not limited to, a reinforced concrete roundabout, concrete and asphalt sidewalks, curb ramps, concrete medians, and curb and gutter work. The scope of work also includes storm drainage, site improvements, asphalt restoration, pavement markings and other associated work.

The work will be completed by Fort Myer Construction of Washington, D.C.  Design work has been completed by the Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT).
