Enjoy Stories of the Past Around the Campfire
There’s no better way to start the fall than with stories around the fire. On September 22, 2017 at 7 p.m., enjoy a taste of the season as you learn about the early residents of Ellanor C. Lawrence Park while enjoying foods they may have eaten. Come to the Walney Time Travel: Peach Cobbler Campfire and bring the whole family for a delicious adventure. Interpreters dressed in period attire demonstrate cooking a peach cobbler using a Dutch oven. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. The cost is $10/per person, and included in this program is a piece of pie.
When you visit Ellanor C. Lawrence Park, save time for a visit to Walney Visitor Center for information about Walney’s earliest residents. This month, the rotating exhibit case will feature information about the effects the tobacco industry had on the Brown family and their enslaved people.
Ellanor C. Lawrence Park is located at 5040 Walney Road, Chantilly, VA. For more information, call 703-631-0013 or visit Ellanor C. Lawrence Park.
