Solve a History Mystery at Ellanor C. Lawrence this Fall
Throughout Fairfax County’s history, residents have used tools, clothes and other day-to-day objects that look strange to our modern eyes. This fall, try your hand at identifying some of these objects from the past in “History Mystery” – a new participatory exhibit at Walney Visitor Center at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park in Chantilly, Virginia.
Visitors are invited to look at objects and guess at what it might be. Read the clues and see if you can correctly identify the name the objects. The “History Mystery” program is free of charge and open to visitors of all ages; children who correctly identify two of the objects win a prize. The current exhibit will be on display until December at which point new objects will be put on display.
The Walney Visitor Center at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park is located at 5040 Walney Road, Chantilly, VA. It is open to the public Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 12 – 5 p.m. For more information, call 703-631-0013 or visit Ellanor C. Lawrence Park.
