DESIGN AWARD JURY COMMENTS: This exciting urban design composition took a potentially ordinary project and elevated it to the exceptional. Determining the pedestrian experience was a key factor; the massing was scaled to reflect more intimate interior streets, emphasizing both the vertical and horizontal planes in a dynamic balance of various styles. The jury was drawn to the sense of place created by a variety of materials, that are pleasing, sun drenched, and a welcoming destination for pedestrians and those utilizing the center public areas. This project’s superior architecture and design intent which were carefully planned and beautifully executed, is well deserving of the Honor Award.
