Leslie Johnson,
Zoning Administrator

Administrative Comprehensive Sign Plan (ACSP)

In accordance with Subsection 7102 of the Fairfax County Zoning Ordinance, the Zoning Administrator may authorize a different allotment of sign area to the various tenants of a building through the approval of an Administrative Comprehensive Sign Plan (ACSP).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • The application fee is $95. Fees are paid electronically at the end of the application submission process. A service charge of 2.35% will be added to all fees paid with a credit card.
  • An application may take approximately 14 calendar days to process if no additional information is requested or required.
  • An ACSP does not increase a building’s maximum allowable sign area, it only allows for a re-allotment of sign area among building tenants.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

An application may require the following documents:

Exterior Photos: Current photos of all exterior sides of the building. Photos should show the locations of all existing signs. This document is always required.

Sign Rendering: Rendering of each proposed sign, to include sign dimensions. This document is only required if a new sign is proposed.

Property Owner Permission Letter: A signed letter from the property owner/agent. The letter should include valid contact information (name, title, business address, email address and phone number) and be dated within six (6) months of submittal. This document type is only required if the applicant is not the property owner.
