The Fairfax County 2017 Stormwater Status Report highlights the accomplishments of the stormwater management program from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 and includes:

  1. Stormwater Program Business Plan 
    1. Focus on efficiencies, meet regulatory mandates
  2. Stormwater Capital Projects
    1. Flood mitigation, facility retrofits, stream restoration and stabilization
  3. Operations
    1. Stormwater drainage infrastructure, Best Management Practices, pollution control
  4. Monitoring and Assessment
    1. Water quality monitoring, biological assessment of fish and aquatic macroinvertebrates
  5. Outreach and Public Education
    1. Educate residents about water quality and encourage environmental stewardship
  6. Strategic Initiatives
    1. Excel in environmental program performance, maintain national accreditation, promote safety
