The construction activities for this project will be resumed by July 10, 2023. Thank you for your understanding and patience in this process
This maintenance project was started on the Circle Woods Sec 3 detention pond after dam and control structure deficiencies were identified during maintenance operations. Staff from the Maintenance and Stormwater Management Division (MSMD) initiated a design project to perform dam safety and permit required repairs as well as make improvements to the facility function. This project is part of the Fairfax County Stormwater Facility Maintenance Program.
The maintenance project will include necessary repairs to the existing Circle Woods Sec 3 (0217DP) detention pond dam, replacement of the pond’s control structure, removal of sediment and other facility repairs/improvements. Piping conditions have been observed through the dam from extensive tree root structure in the embankment which was the main catalyst for the project. Trees and root structure will be removed from the dam embankment. The work will also include improved conveyance and outfall across the East Blake Lane Trail.
The project is located near 9501 Polar Leaf Court, Fairfax, VA 22031
The project location may also be viewed by going to the Fairfax County Stormwater Projects map and typing “Circle Woods Sec 3 (0217DP)” in the search window in the upper left corner of the screen.
