DPWES has selected the following projects to spotlight with detailed information regarding background, benefits, and what to expect.

Long Branch North at Arlington Blvd and Robin Ridge Court Stream Restoration (SD-000031-219) Long Branch North at Arlington Blvd and Robin Ridge Court Stream Restoration (SD-000031-219) The project includes restoration of 4,500 linear feet of Long Branch, its tributaries, stormwater outfalls and the floodplain within the stream valley between Dogwood Lane and Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard). Dead Run at Georgetown Pike Stream Restoration Dead Run at Georgetown Pike Stream Restoration The project includes restoration of approximately 5,600 linear feet of Dead Run, its tributaries, stormwater outfalls and the floodplain within the stream valley between Churchill Road and Georgetown Pike. Piney Run Tributary at Lamplighter Way Piney Run Tributary at Lamplighter Way The project will restore about 1,200 linear feet of natural stream channel and protect sanitary sewer infrastructure and private property near Lamplighter Way in Reston. Hunter Mill District Difficult Run
Old Courthouse Spring Branch at Ashgrove Historic Park Stream Restoration Old Courthouse Spring Branch at Ashgrove Historic Park Stream Restoration The project will restore about 2,000 linear feet of natural stream channel, replace the culvert under Ashgrove Lane and repair the trail. Pimmit Run at George C. Marshall Drive Stream Restoration Project Pimmit Run at George C. Marshall Drive Stream Restoration Project The project will restore approximately 2,000 linear feet of degraded natural channel of Pimmit Run and approximately 300 linear feet of outfall leading to it. Long Branch North at I66 Stream Restoration Project Long Branch North at I66 Stream Restoration Project The project will restore approximately 2,400 linear feet of degraded channel of Long Branch and its tributaries between I-66 and Old Lee Highway. Providence District Accotink Creek
Accotink Creek Tributary at Carrleigh Parkway Accotink Creek Tributary at Carrleigh Parkway The project will restore approximately 2,400 linear feet of unstable stream channel to minimize erosion and sediment loss, protect public infrastructure, and enhance site ecology. Dogue Creek at Old Mill Road Dogue Creek at Old Mill Road The project will restore approximately 2,800 linear feet of stream channel. The existing channel is unstable as evidenced by raw stream banks and the widening stream channel. Mount Vernon District Dogue Creek
