Homeowners' and Condominium Associations

Through publications, presentations, and Channel 16 programs, the Consumer Affairs Branch provides educational information to over 1,500 homeowners' and condominium associations in Fairfax County. If you would like the Consumer Affairs Branch to present an outreach presentation to your community please email or call 703-222-8435, TTY 711.

The county does not regulate mandatory membership in homeowners' and condominium associations and cannot give legal, accounting, management or other professional advice. Industry professionals should be consulted when deemed necessary.

The Office of Public Affairs maintains a list of HOAs/Condos in Fairfax County who voluntarily provide the contact information for their communities.  To request a list of community associations in Fairfax County contact the Office of Public Affairs at 703-324-3187.

Publications

The Fairfax County Community Association Guide is an interactive electronic document that provides information and guidance for living in and managing property owners’ associations and condominium associations. The latest edition is now available for the benefit of members and volunteer leaders.

The Fairfax County 2023 Homeowners’ Association and Condominium Association Legislative Update is a guide to the 2023 Virginia General Assembly legislative updates that impact common interest communities effective July 1, 2023.

Charge Up Fairfax is a program to help residents of homeowners’ associations and condominium owners associations access charging for electric vehicles (EVs).

The Energy Conservation Assistance Program provides technical assistance and matching reimbursement grants to qualifying organizations, including homeowners and condominium associations, for energy efficiency and resilience projects to buildings and property.
