The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, at 7 p.m., to present FCDOT’s plan for relocation of the slugging lines during the construction of the Springfield Community Business Center Commuter Parking Garage project which will build a six-level structure that will hold approximately 1,000 parking spaces and will enhance commuter transportation options with the installation of a bus transit center and commuter ridesharing (slugging) spaces.
The meeting will provide the plans for relocation of the slugging lines during the construction work that is anticipated to begin in December 2020/January 2021. Two slugging lines will be relocated to the Springfield United Methodist Church and the Springfield Town Center Frontier Garage prior to the construction. The live project presentation will be recorded and posted to the project webpage after the meeting. The meeting will include an opportunity for questions from the public.
