The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will hold a Design Public Hearing on the Route 28 Widening project, Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., in the cafeteria of Centreville Elementary School, 14330 Green Trails Blvd., Centreville. FCDOT, with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) and the Federal Highway Administration, is proposing to widen Route 28 (Centreville Road) from four to six lanes from the Prince William County/Fairfax County Line at Bull Run to Route 29 in Centreville.

The hearing will include a formal presentation at 7 p.m., with proposed improvements for the project and tentative construction schedule. Documentation for the National Environmental Policy Act and National Historic Presentation Act (Section 106 and 36 CFR Part 800), which includes information on the potential effects of the proposed project on properties listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, and property impact information also will be available for review and comment at the hearing.
