To date, about 35 million people have died from AIDS and roughly the same number live with the virus. While no vaccine exists yet, the availability of antiretroviral drugs and constantly improving treatment options now make it possible for an HIV patient to live a full and healthy life.
We encourage anyone living with HIV to seek care, stay in care, and continue taking prescribed HIV medication. This will help reduce their viral load to undetectable levels and enable them to continue to lead healthy lives and reduce the risk of transmitting HIV.
