Service Description:

This feature class consists of fire box boundaries for the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department (FRD). These boundaries are used in the CAD system and are used to identify the backup fire station dispatch order.

This data includes accurate fire box boundaries for Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax. Other jurisdictions are included for dispatch purposes, but those box boundaries may not exact.

This feature class does not accurately reflect the first due or a homogeneous run order. As boxes are edited for other reasons, 3-deep run orders are incorporated. The edges of a box are more likely to deviate from the central 3-deep run order.

Many larger geographic area designations are included as attributes in fire boxes. These include the first due area, battalion area, division area, safety officer area, emergency medical services supervisor area, and jurisdiction.
