In June of 2006 a peer review was conducted for our office by the Peer
Review Committee of the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA).
The ALGA guidelines follow the requirements of Government Auditing
Standards issued by the Comptroller General of the U.S. General
Accounting Office. This quality control review evaluated a sample of our
audits and adherence to policies and procedures as well as Government
Auditing Standards. A management letter and opinion letter were issued by
the committee. The Internal Audit Office concurs with the peer review
results and will implement the recommendations as outlined in our
response letter.
