Discussion Draft: Internal Audit will provide a discussion draft report prior to the exit conference. Only the departments that are the subject of the report will receive a copy of the discussion draft.
Exit Conference: An exit conference will be scheduled with the department to discuss the observations and recommendations.
Formal Draft Report: After making any revisions to the discussion draft report, as a result of the exit conference, the formal draft report will be issued to the department.
Department Response: The department must submit a written response to the formal draft report within 30 calendar days of issuance. The response should be delivered to the Director of the Internal Audit Office in the form of an action plan to implement the recommendations. The action plan should specify what will be done, who will do it, and a specific date for completing each planned action.
Final Report: The Director of the Internal Audit Office will work with the department to achieve an effective action plan. The department's response will be summarized within the report and the full action plan will be attached. This final report package will be delivered to the County Executive for release.
Copy to County Board: The County Executive will approve the release of the final report to the Board of Supervisors for their information. The Director of Internal Audit will send a copy of the report to each Board member.
Published Audit Report: Upon approval of the County Executive and after release to the Board of Supervisors, the audit report will be published on the Internal Audit's web site.
