HDTV signals provides better picture quality than traditional analog TV transmissions. HDTV requires a HDTV monitor to function, so you will need to purchase an HDTV monitor. Most cable companies provide a special HDTV converter box that receives the signal and converts it so it can be seen on a HDTV monitor.
