This edition of Mature Living focuses on “Continuous Lifelong Learning.”  Education isn’t just for kids anymore – and there is evidence that learning in your later years contributes to a healthy body and mind, and even a longer life!  Our experts share resources for learning in Fairfax County and confirm the fact that not all learning takes place inside a classroom.  In the first part of the show, Jennifer DiSano, Executive Director of OLLI – The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University, and Michelle Scott, Executive Director of the Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna, discuss diverse learning opportunities at their learning centers.  In the second half of the show, Barbara Nugent, Division Director at the Fairfax County Park Authority, talks about the Park’s learning opportunities, while Karen Stevens and Devaki Das, program specialists with the ACE (Adult and Community Education) Program share information on the many educational opportunities offered through Fairfax County Public Schools.  (CC)
