This edition of Mature Living focuses on the connection between humans and animals, and what older adults should consider before adopting a pet.  We’ll also take a look at the positive impact of a therapeutic program that provides pet visits to older adults who don’t have a pet of their own.  In the first half of the show, Mature Living Host Anne Hall discusses what seniors should consider before adopting a pet with Dr. Anne Garrood, D.V.M. with the Great Falls Animal Hospital and Shawn Crisp, Humane Educator with the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.  Our second panel features Ruth Benker, Director of Facilities Relations and Madelynn Arnold, President of the Fairfax Pets on Wheels Program. They talk about the positive effect these visits have on seniors, as well as their furry friends.  (CC)
